Warning Bee Message Filtering Program
How It Works
An important security feature of the KidChatters™ Kids Secure
Network™ is our "Warning Bee" Message Filtering Program. Our
Warning Bee message filtering program is designed to both filter
and discipline in real time. The filtering of message
content before the message is sent serves to better protect
our members from being
subject to offensive language and risky online communications. The
disciplinary action of blocking messages until the content is
corrected serves to teach our members safer communication skills and
good online manners.
The Warning Bee "Cyber Sting" is our way of notifying a
user immediately that they have violated one or more of the
Online Chatter Rules
contained in the KidChatters™
Acceptable Use Policy
(KAU).
We feel it is important for KidChatters™
to help our members develop good online manners and safer communication
skills. We outline what is and is not acceptable online behavior in
our KAU
policy. At the time users register they are required to
acknowledge on their Family Profile Form that they have read and agree
to comply with our KAU
policy.
Complying with the
Online Chatter Rules contained in the
KAU is a
necessary condition of membership in KidChatters™ and TeenChatters™.

About Cyber Stings
Each time our Warning Bee message filter senses a user has
broken an
Online Chatter Rule,
a Warning Bee "Cyber Sting" will appear. When a user receives a
Warning Bee "Cyber Sting" the WebMail or Instant Message is put on
hold and cannot be sent. The message will remain on hold and blocked
from transmission until the user corrects the offending content. If
the user does not correct the offensive content and tries to send the
message again a new "Cyber Sting" will appear. The user is allowed
only 10 "Cyber Stings" before administrative action is taken. If the
user accumulates 10 "Cyber Stings" the user then loses their privilege
of using the KidChatters Kids Secure WebMail™
or KidChatters Kids Secure Instant Messaging™
programs until our monitors can counsel with a parent or legal
guardian. We communicate this problem to the parents through an email
entitled KidChatters
Disciplinary Action Notice.
At the of each month
2 Warning Bees "Cyber Stings" will be un-shaded (removed). This gives
the user who has been stung many times a chance to keep reducing the
number of Warning Bee "Cyber Stings" as long as they do not break any
more rules.
Users and parents can see how many Warning Bee "Cyber Stings" have
been accumulated by simply logging on to their

About 12 Cyber Stings
If a user accumulates a total of 12 Warning Bee "Stings" their
membership in
KidChatters may be terminated.
We want our users to
have a fun time while socializing with other KidChatters Members.
We know that
sometimes kids will make an honest mistake or not understand clearly
the meaning of some of our rules, so we try our best to work with
parents to turn an innocent mistake into a good learning experience.
However, if a
user continues to be a problem then we must take the necessary action
to protect our other users. That's why we have a final limit on the
total number of Warning Bee "Cyber Stings" that can be accumulated
within a 12 month period.
